Once I started reading this collection of short stories I had trouble putting it down. Reno is a former MP turned PI and is trying to rebuild her life in Miami after the tragic death of her husband. She is a red-headed sassy and smart character that will leave you wanting more. I look forward to the full -length Reno Hart novel that is coming later this year according to the author. Reno Hart is my kind of PI. The first 2 stories are good, but the last 2 won me over completely. Reno is smart, interesting, and no-nonsense--someone I'd want working on a case, and the kind of character I want to read about. (When Reno mentioned her dislike of heels, I knew I'd met my new favorite PI -)) Campbell does right what so many male writers get wrong--he captures the nuances of a 3-dimensional female character and makes her interesting and realistic--not a cardboard cutout of some guy's fantasy, or a male character masquerading as a woman. Nicely done, Mr. Campbell!

This book was just a taste of the good things to come. I am eagerly awaiting the next, full-length Reno Hart.

Stephen Campbell weaves the powerful Reno Hart, a "Macguyver-like", "Sherlockian", raw and wonderful investigator into your own heart. I know this fiery lady as her qualities are similar to my own passionate and fiery spirit that seeks the truth in the face of evil. You need to read this Florida-born series of intrigue. You will want MORE of Reno. I know I do!
I will look forward to more from this author! A very enjoyable series of short stories that left me wanting more! The main character is very believable, the story lines grab you and keep your interest! I recommend this collection of stories without reservation!
I have a new favorite PI. Reno Hart is a smart, likeable, kick-ass investigator who is also human and retains a natural femininity. Stephen Campbell is a vivid new voice in crime fiction. Four seasons of Reno contains tightly plotted stories with enough depth of character to make for a highly satisfying read. Campbell's style is easy to fall into and does not call attention to itself. My only complaint is that I have to wait for Campbell's first full length Reno Hart adventure. Note I received an ARC of this book.
Fantastic read! Reno is smart, tough, and funny. She's a former military cop turned P.I, and her MP experience and knowledge come in handy in this set of four novella's featuring Reno.

Four fast-paced, highly enjoyable stories featuring Reno in each of the seasons. A clever idea that really works in this book, allowing the reader to move along with Reno during a year of her life.

Tight,compelling plotting, vivid characters,a sharp, wonderful protagonist and some laugh out loud moments. Stephen Campbell is a terrific, skilled writer. I loved this book and had trouble putting it down. Can't wait for the next one!
It's been awhile since I've been excited about a new character in the mystery genre, but this book of short stories has done it. Reno Hart is one strong heroine! I love that she doesn't need to use violence to crack cases, but instead uses her brains and creativity. I do worry about how she's dealing with her grief over losing her husband & if she's shut off her emotions (See! I'm actually worried about this character! lol!) Anyway, if you're a fan of the mystery genre, you won't be disappointed in these well-plotted, well-executed bite-sized stories that capture Florida in all her glory and corruption. Highly recommend & can't wait for a full length Reno Hart novel!
